The 13th edition of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup promises to be an unforgettable sporting spectacle for cricket enthusiasts worldwide. On October 5th, the tournament will get underway at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and culminate on November 19th with the grand final.

The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup is not just about prestige and glory, but also about earning substantial financial rewards. The US$10 million prize pool for this edition reflects cricket’s growing popularity and commercial potential.

Winners of the prestigious trophy will certainly bask in glory, but that’s not all. A cash prize of US$4 million will also be awarded to the winners. Runner-ups will also receive a commendable US$2 million for their efforts.

Prize Money Breakdown for ICC World Cup 2023

  • Winner: A magnificent US$4 million, which equals approximately Rs 33,25,08,4000.
  • Runner-up: US$2 million, which is equivalent to about Rs 16,62,54,200.
  • Losing Semi-Finalists (2): Each receiving a respectable US$800,000, totaling around Rs 6,65,01,680.
  • Teams Eliminated After Group Stage (6): Each team will secure US$100,000, approximately Rs 83,12,710.
  • Winner of Each Group Stage Match (45): A reward of US$40,000 per match, which which equals approximately Rs 33,25,242.

World Cup 2023 will feature 10 teams competing for the trophy. Since India is the host country, it is automatically qualified. From the Super League, New Zealand, England, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and South Africa progressed, while Sri Lanka and the Netherlands qualified through the Qualifier matches held in June and July.

The top four teams will advance to the semi-finals, scheduled for November 15 in Mumbai and November 16 in Kolkata. The semi-finals and final matches will have reserve days, ensuring an exciting conclusion.
